Hi! Im wondering about the different methods for Sterilization within a 3D bioprinter. I was thinking about using uv light for Sterilization, in a wavelength between 255nm and 280nm, but I’m not sure about the LED size or power. if you have any other ideas about how I can sterilize the environment without harming the cells, I’ll really appreciate it.

Hi!

When I bioprint, I make sure to keep my printer under a biosafety cabinet to maintain sterilization. To sterilize the bioprinter, I spray it with ethanol or use the UV light in the biosafety cabinet. The UV sterilization initially sterilizes the printer, but you will need a way to maintain that sterilization throughout the entire printing process.

You can check out the printer I use here: http://www.biobots.com. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi! Thank you so much for replying. I was actually thinking of a printer that wouldn’t be needed to be placed inside a biosafety cabinet. Like the printer as such be sterile enough so that it won’t be needing it. Do you have any ideas how can I achieve this?
