Hello all,

I have put together a 3D printer, using below parts list

  • Nema17 Stepper Motors
  • MK2 Heatbed
  • MK8 Extruder (using Nema17)
  • Ramps 1.4 + Arduino Mega 2560
  • E3D V6
  • and a custom made metal frame
  • Marlin Firmware

bed is leveled, everything is installed and connected correctly, on first try, it extruded but filament was being dragged by the nozzle (Not sticking to bed), after tweaking a little bit, filament “sort of” stuck and printed the calibration cube, didn’t come out as a “cube” per say, BUT, nozzle got clogged and filament no longer comes out, replace the nozzle with a spare, extrudes but filament not sticking, I have an MK2 Heatbed heated to 60 C, with a Borosilicate Glass Bed on top of it.
all axis move smoothly and correctly, the only problem I have is how to determine the right speed, flow-rate, of filament extrusion, Nozzle distance from bed, temperature, and printing speed to ensure a smooth flawless print.

Filament used : Spoolworks PLA (1.75)
Thank you

ok, have restored the original firmware and now it is extruding again, but still filament isn’t sticking to bed, is heating the MK2 bed up to 60C not enough for PLA 1.75? what do i need to do to make it fully stick??
