Hi,

I almost started grieving when my Anet A8 stopped working, I missed it so much!

The extruder doesn’t seem to be able to push the filament through (please see this video

https://photos.app.goo.gl/QvXKcpfY2yCZTHPc9) the cog just ‘bounces’ to and fro very slightly.

So far, have:

  • Turned up the extruder tension. No change
  • Swapped the motor wire for the Y-axis and moved the Y-axis. No change.
  • Swapped with a new motor. No change
  • Swapped motherboard. No change
  • Tried a new nozzle. No change
  • Tried a new hot-end. No change.
  • Tried a different extruder (the gold-anodised one in the video)
  • Changed to a 20 point stainless-steel cog. No change.
  • Increased the temperature to 210° C. No change.
  • Checked the temperature with an IR thermometer. Spot-on
  • Tried filament I have used before with success. No change.
  • Tried brand-new filament. No change.

I can push the filament through easily enough but the extruder doesn’t seem to have the oomph to do it - it eventually starts to strip the filament.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Thank you,

Hugh
