I want to do a personal project and I need a vintage action figured parts scanned individually so it can be 3D printed or a mold can be 3D printed.

i have no idea how expensive is this but it’s about 16 small pieces. Who can I contact for this service?

Thank you all for your responses, as the vast majority of you asked the same questions, here are the details:

Location: Boston, MA (USA)

Project details: I’d like to get a scan that will provide a file where I can 3D print the figure at it’s size or at larger sizes)

The figure size is: 3 to 3/4"

The figure can be easily disassembled in 16 or 17 pieces, here’s the breakdown:

  1. Head (1 piece)
  2. Chest Front (1 piece)
  3. Chest Back (1 piece)
  4. Shoulder (left and right - 2 pieces)
  5. Top arm or bicep (left and right - 2 pieces)
  6. Lower arm & hand (left and right - 2 pieces)
  7. Waist (could be split in front and back - 2 pieces)
  8. Top leg exterior (left and right - 2 pieces)
  9. Top leg interior (left and right - 2 pieces)
  10. Left foot (1 piece)
  11. Right foot (1 piece)

The figure is the following:

Hi, let us know how big the action figures are. so to understand if our 3D scanner is ok.

please share additional details(size+color) along with pictures ( if any)

Depending on how many parts it could be a lot of work. I find on my scanner the scanning is quick but post processing can take a long time.

Scanning itself is not the most expensive part, assuming your parts are not too small or accuracy needed not to high. In that case it’s not the same range of hardware and prices may go up.

But post process each set of files to obtain a usable design is time consuming.

Also if your part are shinny / reflective or translucent, it may prevent to have a full color scan as we need to spray them to have a proper scan using some type of scanners.

Good morning.
I need a picture of the parts and an approximate size to be able to indicate price. A greeting.

hi Alex,

what is the size of the figures? just a rough measure will help us confirm which scanner is best fit for the job.

we have high precision scanners with relatively small scanning area. if the figurines can fit in then you’re most likely to be very pleased with the scanning output!

get in touch if this is of interest.

best regards,
