Heya, we’re loading up our spool of MadeSolid PET+ and was wondering if anybody could share their settings to make this go smoothly? It was awhile ago, but my last experience with PET did not go so well with the high temps required, although I think the extruder and heating tape were very worn at that point. Any help would be appreciated!

I’d recommend 260C, 90mm/s, 200 micron layers. I set up custom profile for supports and space them a little further from the model than MakerBot calls for. Use helper disks for the corners and Buildtak on the plate. You might see some lifting, but I’ve had good luck with these settings.

Going from memory as it was almost over a year ago since I put MadeSolid PET+ through my Rep2 (4th Gen). I was using their black PET+, temp was at or around 230C-235C on a glass plate with a thin spread of UHU glue for adhesion. I don’t think I slowed the print speed down, though it could help. I also turned off the active cooling manually once it activated after the first layer.

Build plate temp may be important to regulate (40-60C) along with chamber temperature .

Thanks for all the tips! I ended up printing at 250 with 80 percent infill and it worked well!

Do you have a picture available? I have a drying time chart that says that PET needs drying for 2-4 hours at 135 C (275F) for injection molds. PET filament will perform better if dried first. It is also hygroscopic and degrades with moisture.
