The robox has always been plagued with problems, either that or luck just wasn’t on my side with the 2 roboxes I bought. However due to a new policy on the print head they only fix their leaky nozzle issues if the print head has less then 500 hours of printing. Or to but it in their words “our print heads are a consumable item, the guarantee is good for a max of 100days from purchase provide it has less then 500hours of printing.” Not to mention that when you cancel a failed print it will count up all the hours you haven’t actually printed. So after less then 21 days of printing when there non serviceable non fixable needle valve seal burst, which it is bound to do you are just suppose to buy a new head, costing £150 or about 175 eurosnot including shipping cost. But be quick because they routinely run out of heads which could lead to weeks or months of printer down time. Their customer service used to be helpful, understanding and accommodating. I don’t understand why they are going down this route of profit first, customer and quality second but it bugs me enough to write about it here so people looking for a new printer are aware. And for now I am thinking of selling my robox printers, even though when they do work they are a pleasure to work with. Anybody else have had these type of experiences with them?

I agree, First the machine was not fully tested before release and has problems in many areas that can be fixed for a cost. Bed heat spreader, gantry frame,x carriage housing and PCB etc. They seem to have a problem in providing non expendable parts to the customer insisting that the machine be sent in for repairs which would equal half the price of a new machine. I have 2 machines both with bad controller boards, one also showing problems with the x carriage neither can be repaired without sending them to Robox repair center. My other printer is a Leapfrog which I can get any part for from manufacturer within a week. Support is a very important issue and included in that is the cost of the repair. without good support you have no future, the word gets around watch. With the machine costing 1500 there is no reason for a costly send in. I will be parting out these two machines if there is any interest. I also have extra extruders, print heads and a new conversion kit for dual materials…

I have the same problem with seal leaks. CEL robox states that the printer is outside warranty. However the original document mentions 2 years (my printer is 1.5 years old).

In practice CEL Robox is asking users to buy a complete printer head for ~170gbp every few months of which CEL Robox is the only supplier(my head should now be not to far away from 100hrs, I only use the printer a couple of times per month) Service team mentions that the warranty life cycle is only 100 hours which is extremely short + it is worrying that the seal rupture goes undetected (as has already happened twice the plastic has touched the cables above the head).

For anyone still experiencing problems. I’ve upgraded both my roboxes to dual material and have had close to zero issues since. So that seems to work a little more reliable.
