Hello all fellow Hub owners!

Just wanted to get some feedback from local 3D printer owners to see what you guys think about being able to purchase Colorfabb filament in Vancouver. They offer great quality filament (at least on my Axiom Airwolf it yields very good results) but as many of you might already know freight charges are ridiculous.

I recently opened a 3D printing store in Downtown Vancouver and would be easily accessible to everyone. The benefit would be 2 main things - it’d be cheaper and faster to get!

Do many FDM printer owners use Colorfabb? if not what do you guys use??

Thanks!!

Just started using ProtoPasta in the last few days and it is AMAZING stuff. The Matte HTPLA is so nice to use. I also use a bit of the FormFutura stuff as well the CarbonFill and the EasyWood. Also their ASA is good as well. It would be good to see a Canadian reseller of 3D Fuel stuff. Filaments.ca stopped carrying their stuff.

Where is your store? I’d love to be able to buy locally. Especially colorfabb

I’ve heard good things about Protopasta, I may try them out. Hoe are their prices and shipping charges? Thanks!

Store’s located on 518 West Pender st called 3DSMITH. We don’t carry filaments for resale yet and won’t be doing so for at least a few months until I know what’s most preferred by 3D printer owners

I’d suggest a few brands then Hatchbox Colorfabb Mg chemicals (cheap and good enough) E3D (all of the products. Filament nozzles. Heater cartridges. Thermistor cartridges. ) Filaments.ca has their own brand. Perhaps reselling their stuff.

ColorFabb PLA/PHA and XT spools came with the two Ultimaker 2+ machines I have at work. They are very nice filaments.

I find the Maker Geeks filament to be comparable though and much more economical (considerably less shipping cost). I just got some of their Maker Flex filament and I’m dying to try it.

And is this Vancouver WA, or Vancouver BC?

What are you stocking right now?

I’d also suggest stocking some Igus bearings, they’re so hot right now for making printers quieter.

Yep - let me know Chris when you are stocking it.

Yes, all types of filaments I’ve used by ColorFabb has worked out really well for me, even all the special types of filament like metal and wood infused.

And it’d be for Vancouver BC

Excellent - will definitely keep you posted!

Thanks

I tend to purchase a lot of ColorFabb.

Will your prices be competitive with Voxel Factory? and What kind of shipping fees to Victoria?

I’m interested

Looking at their prices now and I can’t say ours would be better… they have amazing prices!

for shipping it’d be heavily dependent on the qty’s ordered but tbh I don’t think anyone outside of Greater Vancouver Area would benefit all that much from us if we carried the product.

But I’ll still definitely keep you posted!

Thanks

Will do, thanks!
