I was wondering if anyone had any luck printing the platform jack from Thingiverse. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:925556

Everything goes fine until the top of the screw. It seems to break off or fall off before the print is complete creating a pile of filament after. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi @Xanthos

I have printed this part without any problems. What speed are you printing at? Is the bed levelled? How do the walls below it look like? To troubleshoot such problems you usually need more information.

If you could let me know what settings you were using, it would be appreciated. I’ve tried ABS, PLA, normal speed, slow speed, many different types of infill. I’m using a Style, and as far as I know it should be auto leveled.

I’ve printed it yesterday. Everything went good except when trying to open the jack for the first time the bolt broke off. So I printed it again with 100% infill… included are my print settings on my cubicon style…

So 100% infill worked?

I printed the bolt for opening the jack at 100%. At 15% it broke. The rest of the jack is printed with 15% and on a raft.

Thanks for the help, one last question, what brand filament were you using? I’m curious about the 208 temperature.

Nothing special, I bought some very cheap fill. in a big market where they don’t know anything about it, so that will not be that important I think.
