Hi there!

Anyone found a good slicerfor dremel idea builder?

I am currently using the print studio, witch works well enough. Tried some others as well, but the dremel can only take .g3dream files witch craftware ect can not export to.

i would like to try simplify3D in the future, but dont have the cash atm. What software are you guyes using?

Dremel recently came out with a new cloud-based slicing software that can slice and convert your .stl files into .g3drem files. Currently it is only on their US site, while the global servers are being set up. If you go to dremel3d.com, you can create an account and sign in. Once you do that, there is an icon in your account that will take you to Dremel’s PrinterOS platform that will do all of the slicing and file conversion for you in 3 easy steps. If you have the 3D40 and have connected it to the internet, you can also print directly to the 3D40 without needing to use a USB.

It’s a little hard to find right now so if you need help finding this, you can always call Dremel 3D’s customer service and they will help you out.

I’ve recently made a plugin for Cura that exports .g3drem files for the Dremel Ideabuilder 3D20. You can find it here: GitHub - metalman3797/Cura-Dremel-Printer-Plugin: Dremel Idea Builder plugin for Cura version 3.x and onward. This plugin enables the user to use the Dremel Ideabuilder 3D20, 3D40, and 3D45 printers and use Cura to export the proprietary .g3drem files.
