For as long as I have been 3D printing, I have always focused on practical applications.

To be able to print functional parts, it is of course important to know the strengths and limitations of the materials you intend to use.

Manufacturers usually have PDF’s available which list their filaments specifications, but it is not always possible or easy to compare listed figures. So I tried to come up with a way of testing materials myself and be able to test print settings at the same time.

I designed and 3D printed a simple testbench that I will use to test the strength of materials.

Here a two links to a short clip that shows how the intended procedure will work.

The testpiece (not yet labeled at this time) was printed in standard natural colored PLA with 3 shells and 30% infill.
