Hello, I am considering Ultimaker 2+, 2 Extended +, 3 and 3 Extended. Is the extra cost of the 3 and 3 Extended worth?

If you don’t need the extra functionalities like dual extruder and WIFI connectivity you can still buy an U2.

Or consider a wanhao duplicator 6 it has the same mechanics but much better steel frame, other option would the Zortrax M200.

I don’t need WIFI connectivity. Is dual extruder required if I want water solvable support? What are the advantages of having dual extruder? I guess with this feature, one could print using two different materials in two different colors. Am I right?

The U3 gives you the possibility - via PVA - to create objects impossible without this (great) feature.

Moreover you can really print objects in 2 materials or colors (for instance an item with external PLA/rigid structure and internal/elastic one). Then you’ve even a cam to remotely monitor your ongoing work. And very easily removable/changeable print cartridges (a big plus). And automatic flat bed calibration. What else?

The only reason to get ultimakers 3 is the Dual extruder. The ultimaker 2+ versions use the same hardware and will print the same quality. Also the ultimaker 2+ has a larger buildvolume due the fact is only has 1 nozzle.
