Hi,

I’ve a ZYYX+ and I never have been able to print nice pieces that had joints or snap fits.

It’s always too tight and need to be sanded, etc. And even then it’s not easy to assemble.

Otherwise I’m very happy with the printer.

Do you have issues with this kind of prints too ? Or is it my settings ?

I also want to try another filament as maybe it’s the issue too.

The current model I’m trying to print has been designed for PLA.

Which PLA brand are you using for joints and snap fits, any brand to recommend ?

I’v been looking at colorfabb PLA/PHA, PolyMaker (PolyPlus?), Extrudr,… ?

Hello 3DVS,

Sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this issue! If you’d like to write to us at support (at) zyyx3dprinter.com, we’ll be happy to offer advice on printing fine details.

We’re glad that you’ve otherwise had a positive experience, though!

Best regards,

YOu dont say what software your slicer is. But Simplify3d has an horizontal offset feature that will allow you to adjust tolerances on a part that fits into another part. Your software may have the same issue.

It is a common problem, particularly when the person who designed the model did not take into account the tolerances that are needed for die swell, vibration, shrinkage, etc.

As for PLA, I swear by Sainsmart. The filament is always in spec, and reliably prints different colors with the same settings for all.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

I also use simplify3d, will try the horizontal offset feature.

Will also look for Sainsmart filament.
