Hello everybody,

I have bought the newest Leapfrog Creatr HS and try to use it for 2 months now, but I haven’t found the right settings. The edges (walls) of the printed PLA material are very rough, the layers don’t stick smoothly together, etc. I am using Simplify3D latest version and also the firmware is from the latest release. I have downloaded the recommended FFF settings from Leapfroq for Simplify3D, but I they don’t work for me.

Does anyone can share there settings(files) with me as I am getting desperate ?

Thank you,

Luc

Hello Luc,

I really hope for you it’s only the settings which are not good but I’ve been knowing Leapfrogs Creatr HS for a while as I had 5 of them and I regret to told you that what you explain sounds like it’s not you the problem. Have you, since now, got threw a good printing result? Could you print anything good? Did you calibrate very carefully your heating bed?

Sorry for all those questions but it will help me to answer your question as best possible

Hi Luc can you give us more info

temps,material supplyer,model you print

some pictures

Hi Luc , please send us some photo’s, i have an HS and it’s working very well.

What kind of PLA do you use, Xmaxx or own supplier?

Try both the Simplify troubleshooting guide or the info you’ll find on the leapfrog page, they have some vid’s

This is what i can achieve with the HS

Hi guys,

I have a leapfrog HS too and have been printing well with it for quite some time now. I’ve been using the recommended FFF settings for the most part, with small tweaks here and there depending on the model and filament. I want to update the firmware but I’ve read that the same FFF settings wont work well with the update, and I’m concerned that I’ll have to spend a lot of time (that I don’t have at the moment) running tests in order to get stable prints across different resolutions and materials.

How long did it take you to get your settings right with the new firmware? Can anyone help with some rough settings for 100/150/200 micron PLA/ABS prints with the new firmware? I’ve also read that it can now produce stable prints at 50 microns, has anyone had success with that?

This is probably asking a lot but any help with this would be really appreciated.

Cheers
