hi guys I reacently turn my printer on after a while if none use,I recalibrate did firmware updates and cleaned extruder and bed. I have printed 4 prints and every single one of them has had a spider web string from one poin to the other the the extruder moves to start a new layer. Is there any thing that can fix this?

Hi Enertion, One thing I can think of. Are you selecting the right material on the Z-suite software for the material you are using in the printer? (ie. Have you selected Z-ABS instead of Z-Ultrat). If it’s not the same, I know that it will not be optimum temperature, flow rate, cooling speed etc.

Hello,

It’s most likely heating issue. If you could make few photos and attach it to Support form - Zortrax , would be great.

Hello EB, (is this Jason? If so, I follow your content on YT!)

a picture would usually help with fixing your problem. Stringing happens on some of my prints, it’s very minimal and can be removed with a flame from a lighter. If the stringing is severe, it is most likely a hardware issue. Perhaps you could send me the file and I could try it on my M200 to see if the same issue occurs.

Severe stringing occurs either because the temperature is too high for that particular material or retraction settings are not right (rarely the case as retraction settings are not accessible on the M200). Make sure you are using original Z-filaments as they add in certain additives and it causes their ABS to print at a higher temperature than others (around 265 vs the usual 250).

Another possibility is that there might be some build up in the nozzle causing the 0.4 mm diameter to be slightly smaller. The back pressure in the nozzle remains the same and this causes oozing during passes. Leaving the nozzle in acetone and using the provided 0.4 mm needle might solve this issue.

Hi, Could your slicer settings have changed during your downtime (new slicer install, or upgrade, or something)? The two main causes of strings are too high a hotend temperature and too low (or no) retraction settings. Both of these are down to slicer settings, so I would start by checking your retraction settings and filament temperature.

Let us know how you get on.

cheers

Doug

It mean that your piace isn’t at the same level of the plate. Look that if you have rotated the piece. Do you see this strips on the print preview? Can you post a picture of the print preview, and the one of the printed piece?
