Hi all,

Do I need to adjust the measurements in any way to make puzzle-like pieces connect properly? I want to build a puzzle piece that will have a male and female connector on each side. Picture a jigsaw puzzle where every piece is identical and connects with each other seamlessly.

When designing this I’ve made the male connector with the exact same dimensions as the female “sockets”. Will this make the fit too tight or will it be ok? If too tight, how much should reduce the male dimensions? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is very unlikely the parts will go together at all. The ideal situation would be to leave about .8mm in there for tolerances.

What you really want to do is some tabs and sockets, and have your 3d printer run some tests for you to guide you on what would be best, before you pay to have your whole model printed.
