How long can you have a print head taken out of the machine for? We have never replaced the printer heads before and our support head is failing. We would like to try a company that says they can clear the clogged nozzles in our current support head, but the manual says you should immediately replace them. Is this because you are risking the head itself? We were planning to have the head out overnight. If it is because you are just risking the head it is already failing so that would be fine. I understand anything longer than a week and we would be risking other things by having unused material in the lines etc. so this would just be a day or two. Thoughts?

Hey,

I really wouldn’t worry so much. Just run the shutdown wizard. The resin only cures in UV light so any leftover material in the pipes will be fine. We’ve had to replace both of our heads now. We’re planning to clean out the old ones ourselves, so we always have a fresh pair ready to go.

Hey Andy,

Have you had any success with cleaning your printer heads?

We are having issues with our both our heads missing nozzles and want to purchase an ultrasonic cleaner to clear them out.

Was going to use Isopropanol in the bath and then flush the head with a syringe as well.

If you wouldn’t mind sharing your results or findings that will be great.

Thanks
