This is an active discussion on how to stop part curling with the Markforged Mark One printer.

In my experience I am seeing a lot of curling with my parts I am printing. What is the best glue technique, thin layer or thick layer? Should I be pre-heating my print head? I have been experimenting with several variations to what seems like to no avail. Is it my surface area contact? Has anyone experimented with the problem of Part Curling? Please Share your experience.

The thermal expansion of the Nylon is orders of magnitude greater than the fibers the Mark One uses. You are making a composite part. Balance and symmetry of the fibers through the thickness of your design is very important. Are you using the broom feature in Eiger. That will help hold the part down. The rest is proper design choice when making a composite part. Reducing the fill density in the nylon only areas can reduce the thermal stresses generated adjacent to the fiber areas of your part. I use the brim feature and that stopped most curling, but an extra layer or 2 of glue seems to help otherwise. Also depends on the part design and positioning on plate.My .02
