I just uploaded a piece (attached) and the quote came back as 17.4x19.3x0.1 cm, 140.7 cm3 in volume.

Now 17.4*19.3*0.1cm= 33.583 cm3 so 140.7 cm3 is obviously impossible. I also have voids totalling about 20%. the Willit 3D print service calculates the part as 24.34 cm3.

Do I have something wrong with this .stl?

Hi Richard,

thanks for notifying us about this issue. I checked out your file and indeed, there seems to be something within the .stl file that causes our system to incorrectly calculate the material volume.

I took your .stl file and opened it in Cura, saved it without modifying a thing and then checked it again. You can check the differences in the screenshot and I’ve also added the new .stl file so you can check it yourself.

I’ll also communicate this issue to our developers so they can have a look at it as well.

I hope this solved the issue for now.

Best regards,

If it helps, my original was created with SketchUp 2015. Thanks for your help.
