Helloo everybody

I’m having bit of an issue when slicing this model with Simplified 3D. Model in the left shows bit of transparency when I open it with S3D. When I slice this one with supports , supports are not getting generated. I have used Cura and Slic3r but both slicers don’t create any issue. I need to create custom supports for this model and that is the reason why I need S3D for this instance. Any help in this regard is most welcome.

Hey there,

Try this. The normals in your original file were all flipped.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot. You have saved me a lot of trouble.

Hi AndyL

What is a software I should use to repair this. S3d repair tool didn’t work.

Cheers

Raj

Hey Raj,

You’re very welcome. Glad I could help.

I use Netfabb basic. Takes a while to learn how to drive it, but it has most of the features you’ll need to get yourself out of tricky situations like this. If Netfabb doesn’t have a feature you need, you should be able to find it in Meshmixer or Meshlab.

I’d love to know what that little doc-hickey actually IS. It’s a very complex design.

Cheers!

Hi Andy, Thanks for your help. I really appreciate that. These 3d models are fish lure design I’m printing for a customer. It comes in two halves. Cheers Raj
