Hello everyone,

I recently had a bit of a problem with my Duplicator and I’m a bit stumped so I thought I’d come here. I had been printing continuously all day, various filaments and different types of objects. I took my sd card out, stuck it in my iMac, swapped out the gcode file as I normally do for the next print and then reinserted it into the printer.

My problem is it correctly displays “Card Inserted” or “Card Removed” on the main screen when I do so, but when I scroll over to select “Print from SD Card” all I get is a line reading “No SD Card.” It displays as if there is nothing on the card but I know there is. I have been using this same printing method for about 2 years now flawlessly.

I have tried using a couple different SD cards, various sizes, formatted to all sorts of things. I’ve tried whole SD cards as well as Micro SD’s inserted into adapters. Still nothing. I happened to have an extra LCD module so I had ended up replacing that and the 2 ribbon cables to the motherboard (my screen was scrambled for the past few months from a static shock). After replacing the screen and cables, I started it back up, did the same card routine and had the same exact results as before.

So I’m a little stumped as to what this may be, or if something else is causing it, but it seems likely. I was thinking maybe the pin on the motherboard died so it wouldn’t matter new parts or not, I’d get the same error. I’m using a Ramps v1.4 board running Marlin by the way.

If anyone has any bit of information or any similar happenings, please let me know! I need to get to the bottom of this asap and get back to printing some things.

Thanks very much!

Hm that’s quite odd, one of the few issues I didn’t have on my Wanhao. Are you still able to print tethered?

No, unfortunately not. I tried that a little down the road after all the SD card variables were tested. Which is a big reason why I think the culprit is on the main board somewhere or something. The electronics of these machines is kind of where I get lost, I’m more of a software guy than a hardware guy and this machine was upgraded heavily by a friend.
