Hi there,

First time posting on this forum so I am sorry if make any errors.

I have recently acquired a T-Rex 3.0 and have been making some awesome prints. I have been wanting to get into the dual/duplicate extrusion process now and I seem to be running into issues. I was able to calibrate the two extruders so they line up correctly but I cant seem to get the duplicate gcode properly setup before the print.

Formbot included slicer profiles for Cura 15.04.2 that should distinguish between single, dual and duplicate extrusion. The problem I see there is that they are exactly the same. Which is fine I would think, just more gcode tinkering (I’m just not sure what I tinker where etc.)

The other thing is that the Trex has different settings I can start with on the control panel. I have the option to choose “duplicate” and the extruders will position themselves as if they were ready to make a nice duplicate print. After I upload the gcode to it though the extruders appear to want to go to the same area.

Any thoughts or anyone else also running into this same issue? I reached out to Formbot to see if they have any suggestions as well.

Thank you!

Cullen

Joel Telling/3D Printing Nerd has some videos on the Formbot, I think he gives some tips on calibration as well. I hope this helps!

Ah that was helpful! It seems he used simplify 3D which I unfortunately don’t have. I am the mentioned “ancient” form of Cura. The different profiles seem almost useless since they are all exactly the same code wise. I think this may be looking like I just can’t do duplicate printing with Cura.

I know the BCN3D SigMAX uses Cura, and is able to Duplicate, so I presume there’s a way… Then again, they created their own “Flavor” of Cura. Maybe you could download theirs (they’re open source) and compare the two? Maybe even adapt the BCN one to work with the Trex?

Got it fixed. The profile they sent for duplicate printing wasn’t the right file! It all works great now!

Let me know if i should post that file somewhere

Thanks again for all the help!
