When I upload files to 3D Hubs, it gets the dimensions correct but not the volume. What am I doing wrong?

The example attached is ~2.8 x 6.5 cm, and should have a volume of about 22 cm^3. When uploaded to 3D Hubs, the dimensions are correct but it says the volume is 6.7cm^3.

@Robin3D @Alex3DHubs can you help with this? Thanks

Hey @CharlieWilkin,

How’s it going? Maybe I can help you out a bit. 3D Hubs slice the model on the server to estimate the actual amount of material the 3D print would use (Slicing is the process of turning your 3D model into a toolpath for your 3D printer). The Cura slicer is used set at default settings (20% infill, no support). Because of the 20% infill this could result in a different volume than expected. Did you know that the Hub could manually adjust the part volume if needed? Does this answer your question?

Cheers,

Lars

Ok, I think I understand. So the volume of my part is still 22cm^3, it’s just that the printer will only use 6.7cm^3 to make it. This does answer my question, thank you.
