Hi, I printed a Thingiverse model of the Venus de Milo by CosmoWenman. I specifically printed the Full Scale file.

Something happened on her face, right arm, and right breast. Could it be that the speed was too high? I printed at 100 mm/sec. at the finest resolution (0.05mm).

This was done in PLA.

Thanks very much for any advice.

Sergio

That might be a little fast. The overhangs might not have had time to cool before it laid another layer. I’d slow it down and make sure you have good cooling.

it looks like your speed and temp is a bit too high,

you have support everywhere turned on, but did it actually show the support in the layer view, and printed ?

it looks like all the parts that were overhanging did not get any support.

also adjust your minimal layer time, to gives it time to cool down, before the next layer is applied.

Ok, thank you. Will try at 50 mm/sec.

That worked, thank you!

I have a different question about the settings. To reduce the ‘stringiness’ when printing in PLA, I increased the speed. This seems to work.

But I did it while printing, via the Tune / Speed setting. It was at 100 and I increased it to 150.

My question is - what does this speed setting in the Tune menu correspond to? None of the speeds in Cura were set to 100, so I’m confused.
