Monoprice Select Mini v2 - Build-Bed Levelling

Hi, I watched a monoprice video on levelling the build-bed, and noticed that the guy moved the bed by hand while the printer is ON. Is this OK? Doesn't it mess up the positioning of the print-bed? Or break any mechanisms? Most grateful.

As long as the steppers are disabled, you can move the print bed all you'd like when the printer is on. Same goes with the print head. Before each print, the printer will find it's "home" locations by moving the print bed and head until they hit their repective endstop switches.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Your qualifier "As long as the steppers are disabled" seems important. How or when are the steppers disabled (apart of turning the printer OFF)? How do I check that they are not enabled?

Thanks again.

If the steppers are still being driven then you won't be able to move the hot end or build plate at all. I can't remember where exactly... But in the menu on the maker select is an option to "disable steppers". So if you push or pull the build plate and it moves, then the steppers are disabled
