David,

We recommend you setting up a couple of shipping options averaging the costs overall.

We're aware of this complexity and are evaluating different solutions of this in the long term. We expect to have a solution this summer.

Hi @3D_Printing_Chi,

On the Ecoenclose website they allow to select the TL (Tab locking) style boxes. These do absolutely comply with the policies. For boxes in height more than 4 inches, you may use a regular box indeed.

Shipping in envelopes or boxes branded by the postal offices is not permitted.

Sorry for not getting back to you quicker.

It must be that some of these emails might not have been delivered (or failed to send). Please email me: arnoldas@3dhubs.com if you are indeed above the threshold (only don't have the VAT registration) and haven't received the link.

Yes, after these 4 months we will expect to switch to VAT only registered Manufacturing Partners.

Hi @Legion_23,

For larger orders you can use non front locking boxes. I will make sure we clearly state that in the next update to the policies.

Hi guys,

Thanks everyone for expressing your concerns about the VAT registration requirements in the UK. We’ve called with a few of you to get a full picture of the situation.

Taking this into consideration, we’re introducing a grace period of 4 months where top performing UK Hubs will get an invitation to become part of Fulfilled by 3D Hubs, even without having a VAT registration.

This will give these UK Hubs the opportunity to evaluate the benefit of being in this program and decide if the revenue increase justifies a VAT registration for their business.

We've notified everyone eligible (above the performance metric threshold).

 Thank you for your contribution!

Hi @3D_Printing_Chi,

I think one place that does indeed offer good boxes for the most used size is EcoEnclose: https://www.ecoenclose.com/100-Recycled-Corrugated-Boxes-s/19700.htm

Generally, the tab locking box is required and it does need to be brown and unbranded (We will change the wording in the policy soon to avoid this confusion in the future).

For the orders that are of "exceptional size", it is acceptable to use some different style brown unbranded box (small logo of the box company would be acceptable too), but this should only be an exception.

The shipping options that require you to use USPS or FedEx boxes should be avoided as well.

Hi @georgei2,

Just wanted to address the points you've raised here.

• You do need to enable an instant order, which only means that some "lowest-risk" orders will be automatically accepted. The condition for those orders are listed here: https://www.3dhubs.com/hub-academy/instant-order. Everything else is absolutely as normal with the traditional "review" stage. Regardless, If 80% of the printability predictions are wrong please do report it through the order page (on each line item there's a button to report the failure of analysis). There we can deal with them on a case by case basis. For now, we have no indication of this feature failing that often.

• You're only required to have a flat rate shipping within your own country. However, you can set separate flat rate shipping prices for every country separately. We're definitely not asking Hubs to charge one fee for shipments anywhere in Europe. Having these set up for all the countries will benefit you and increase the chance of getting an order outside of your country as well.

• The regulations in the UK does make the situation more complicated indeed. However, the professional customers do need valid VAT invoices. Otherwise, they're paying 20% more as they cannot get their VAT back.

Best,

Hi @serpentes,

Indeed, in Germany none of the big changes are visible yet. Nothing in the 4th quarter should have explicitly made your Hub less visible. It could have been change in the demand or change in your competition.

Hi @Leonardov,

You're currently on a waiting list and not registered on the platform yet.  If a spot opens up, we will let you know.

Hi @marcmiller3d,

Thank you for sharing. So what was your story?

The number is counting different things. It used to also include Hubs who are offline or have created duplicate Hubs. Over the years we've introduced many verification steps to avoid this and today we're showing the number of actual online services. We've also introduced a wait-list for the new suppliers to make sure we manage to get enough orders to our current community first.

Also, only the very lowest performing online suppliers were suspended (less then bottom 10%) to ensure the improved customer experience.

Best,

Arnoldas
