For this year’s Day of the Orchid, 3D artist and creative director of 3D Systems Janne Kyttanen collaborated with Orchid growers throughout the whole country. He has designed a futuristic cloud installation to honor the flower with endless variations. This piece of art will consist of 150 pots, all filled with orchids. The installation will be exhibited at Felix & Foam in Amsterdam.

Hi @WebfinityDesign,

150 microns is fine as well. I will correct that in the PDF. Thank you for noticing.

3 years 9 months ago - Commented on shipping for fairphone, why we don't get paid?

Hey @zaxis

you're right about that. At this moment we don't compensate you for the material needed to ship, but we're working on a solution for that. In the mean time I want to let you know that the packaging instructions are just recommendations. You can ship cases any way you see fit. As long as the case is safely packaged.

Compensation for material costs will follow in the near future.

Hi there,

the checks in NetFabb are for watertightness. We also do a check to see if the model fits the bounding box of the printer. Apart from that we also notify customers if their model is too small to print, but this is only a warning. It's up to the Hub to make the final decision whether he/she can print it or not.

Hope this helps.

3 years 9 months ago - Commented on Fairphone case print problem?

Hi Filemon,

I thought of a few things which might help:

• print more slowly (at that specific point)
• print at max. resolution (then the lines are overlapping more whilst moving towards the outside)
• fan at 100%
• coolest temperature for material (but make sure the layers adhese enough)

Good luck!

3 years 9 months ago - Commented on Fairphone Packaging.. Isn't it too big?

Hey Francesco,

the box in the image was merely meant as an example. Smaller boxes are allowed of course. However we do advise you to choose a box that allows for enough cushion, as you can see in the image.

I hope this clarifies things.

With Kickstarter projects popping up every week, and getting funded like they are the best next thing, I wonder what the general thought about these filament machines on 3D Hubs Talk is. You can read about my second encounter with one of these machines (the Filabot) here
