Autoclavable filaments

Hi everyone! I'm printing a biomedical chip that needs to be autoclavable. Autoclave conditions are: 121 deg. celcius, 100 kPa, 15 minutes. I have tried printing using polycarbonate filament but it didn't survive the first autoclave trial. PC filament was supposedly autoclavable because its Tg is 147 deg. celcius but the chip came out deformed and bent. Any suggestions for autoclavable printing filaments? Thank you!

Hi there,

 

I have printed parts for a dental lab which also needed to be autoclavalble.

For this I used the Innofil PRO1 filament.

This is available in three different colors, but I would suggest you use the 'while' color which is actually more like a pearl-white. This seems to give the nicest results.

 

After printing you can anneal the print in an oven at 80 degrees Celsius after which it is temperature resistant up to 140 degrees C.

Hi! Thanks for the suggestion. The PRO1 looks great plus it can reduce printing time. I will definitely consider this :D

No problem. 

Must admit that I haven't tried to reduce the printing time with this filament. In my experience, this simply does not always works as well as advertised.

According to the Innofil website, it is available in the USA through Amazon.
