Hi all

Just trying to get an old 3D printer going and need the AXON 1 software for BFB 3000

I know it is old, however the mechanicals all look good and it does its travel, extruding etc just fine…I just cannot print as I do not have the older AXON software…can any one please help.

It seems a pity to relegate it to the scrap heap over some software.

I am a newbie and it just will not load a file to print.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried KISSlicer? Or perhaps try to find some Cura profiles? There is quite a community still running the old BfB machines. I would not recommend the Axon software as print quality is not very good.

Hi Henneo, thank you for your kind response to my plea for help.

I installed V3 of AXON but this doesn’t seem to work…it doesn’t complete the build and the resultant file wont upload into the program and be recognisable to allow AXON to make it into the BFB extension.

I installed KSSLicer but it doesn’t seem to generate a BFB file extension…but this would probably show that I am completely new to this. Is there something that I need to do to make KSSlicer to work?

It is good to hear that the printers are still being used…it looks better than some others that I have seen albeit older.

Hi All

I have tried KISSlicer once again and used the expert settings to rename/save the sliced file as .BFB…wow I have printed a test piece, aligned the printing to the centre and now in the process of printing a little model…thanks heaps Henneo for the encouraging words to try again.

It looks like I need to calibrate the X,Y and Z printing as it is a little out, but for a printer that has not run for a long long time, this is a great start into the world of 3D printing.

I would love to have some hints on how to best use the KISSlicer program for the BFB if anyone can help…calibration, layer resolution settings etc.

Thanks in advance

if it has not run for a long time maybe take the bearings out and get the old grease and crap out and put in some fresh grease, or maybe put in new bearings… check if belts are still ok or if the rubber is starting to fall apart
