Hello,

I don’t currently have a 3D printer and have been outsourcing my files to 3D hubs with great results.

However I need some designing/software advice. I have been using Tinkercad for a while and it is by far the most logical software that I have come across as a complete novice.

However there are a couple of things that I am wanting to do that appear to be beyond the functions of the application. Mainly, to be able to import vectors so that they have smooth rather than sharp corners and to be able to bend shapes over curves.

I realise that I may need to spend a little money to do this but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a program that builds on Tinkercad’s basics but has more editing and importing options?

Thanks in advance

Laura

Hi Laura,

My favorite is Autodesk’s Fusion 360, which is free for most hobbyists and students, as well as startups making less than $100,000 annually.

Thanks so much… I will definitely check it out!
