Hi all im fairly new to this but went in hard at the beginning buying 3 printers in the first month. The recurring issue I’m having is only with my ender 3. Extruder clicking… I have calibrated my esteps and flow rate. Replaced the hot end 3 times and replacing a ton of nozzles in between. I did have the fan backwards for a while and thought turning it around would solve the issue if it was heat creep but only slightly fixed the issue. When ever I ask the question of what’s a better fan to use I keep getting the answer of get a quiet noctua fan but to me quieter means less CFMs and I think I need more air movement if the problem is heat creep. BTW I have replaced all fans with new but stock, maybe, I dont have the data to prove they are the same I just relied on Amazon to tell me they are for the ender3 but they are 24v. So after my estep and flow calibration I printed a 20mm XYZ cube and it came out perfect and no clicking at all. Printed at 205c and 50mms. After that print I started a larger print and as soon as it got to the infill which was at 55mms it started clicking again, still at 205c. I adjusted the temp down to 190c and made I worst so I worked my way up to 225c and in t now has very little clicking. Could this mean it’s an issue with the thermistor or heater cartridge? I did have to replace my main board because the part cooling fan wasn’t working. The new board has a bootloader now and I’m using th3d firmware. I dont recall if I had the clicking issue with the original board. That’s as much info as I can think of that might be relevant if more is needed please ask. Thank you all who take the time to help me solve this problem.
