Hey Everyone!

I know 3d printing is fun and exciting but the excessive fails and support materials can be a bit of a headache, does anyone have a solution. Does anyone know of any websites where one can send the failed prints to and they send a roll to you for free. Please let me know if there is anything like this in LA. Thanks for all the help.

Hi Gevoelian,

We are starting a social enterprise that does something similar. We’re a community brand that creates high quality 3D print filament thats ethical, sustainable and affordable. We currently have production in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania where we take recycled bottles and turn it into 3D print filament. This way we can make sure waste pickers earn 20x more for the plastic they collect. Our long term goal is to set up a (franchise) network of decentralised filament production, which could include failed prints.

I just wrote a post about what we do at Talk Manufacturing | Hubs, might be interesting for you to check out. We’re currently looking for supporters & Testers in cities worldwide. If you want to get LA on board of the recycling train let me know at Jasper@reflowfilament.com or sign up here

If you have any questions let me know!

Best,

Jasper
