Most of the warping happens during printing but I have no problems on this, even with very large flat objects. But as soon as my print is done and the part starts too cool down, my printed objects starts to warp. I use ABS, with temps at 230c extruder, 105c bed and speeds at 70mms, and 20% infill. If anyone has any tips of preventing post warping issue, please help.

Hey there, i know this is a sort of a general issue, but could you provide some context like : what printer did you use and what kind of model do you want to print. I think it will be difficult to avoid this with abs in general ,but knowing more could help

Hi guys, I am printing with my flashforge creator pro, with ABS and at 230C Extruder, 105 Bed, 4200mm/s speed, and 20% infill. I know the design seems to slim but it is what my client wants. As I have said I do not have any warping issues during printing, my warping is occurs after when I remove the part and it starts to cool down. Hi @Carlita, I print with ABS quite a lot and I occasionally get warping during a print but never when the parts are cooling down. It sounds like maybe you are not getting enough heat into the surroundings of the print and it is cooling down too quickly and unevenly. I like to keep my bed hotter (I usually run 120C) and I also have a lamp pointing into the enclosure for extra heating, and lastly I have sealed up all the gaps in the body and screens to prevent cooler air getting in or the heated air leaving the print enclosure. Maybe try these tips and see how it works out?

Thank you for your reply. I think your right on target there. I usually have my HBT at 100C, and experience a lot of warping issues. Now I am at 110C and warping has reduced dramatically. I also have discovered that right after printing I usually blow cool air at the prints, which also causes warping, so I do not do that anymore and let the chamber cool itself down naturally.

Awesome, hopefully you get no warping at all! I still get a little bit occasionally and I don’t know why but I think maybe it is more to do with the designs.

If you still cannot control the cooling down, there is another technique.

For complex part where the design is a issue I create a support structure with contact points on the section susceptible to warp, but not the automatic function of the slicer.

It take some experience to identify the right area, but it helps alot with uneven thickness, thin section, large flat area, etc…
